Evaluation
For the exercise we had to choose a location to film and a location to sound record for this. This exercise has taught me that sound is very important to film because without sound the situations that appear on screen will not effect the viewer unless there is sounds there emphasizing the impact or how the viewer should feel to what is on screen, if the sound doesn't match like mine doesn't it will take the viewers out of the film's world. Comparing it to other Media I have looked at, my exercise looks similar to "Derek Jarman's The Cleaning" (1993), this is because both of our films are in a 1st person perspective as if you are looking from the main character's perspective or that you feel like it is your own personal journey you are going on. Also relating to sound it has some comparisons to "Jarman's Garden" (2000) found on Third Cost International Audio Festival Website and "Meat Factory Ear Worms" from RTE. This is because they all use sound to tell a story and make the viewer feel like they are part of the moment and the atmosphere of the podcast is trying to convey like with "Jarman's Garden"  with the sounds of the Gardening Tools and the Waves, while in "Meat Factory" it uses sounds of cutting meat showcasing his work and the Car with his favorite songs to try and show the peaceful side of his life away from the job. Also, looking into my sound compared to "Jarman's Garden" there is a section with Waves that last for round about three or four minuets, I don't know if there is any meaning behind this section but when I was researching it that one sound was on for too long. Luckily in mine, I have a water sound effects that keep on going till it drives the viewers insane wonder why it has been on for a long time and whether something else should be coming up next soon after this.
